Brittany and Nichelle are back on the mic to kick off Season 6 (can you believe it?!) of the Life with Loverly Podcast by catching you up on all the things over their podcast break!

Get ready to laugh as the duo is reminiscing on the last few months and pulling you behind the scenes on the details.

If you’ve been following along on Brittany and Nichelle’s Instagrams, you've seen they have done A LOT of traveling. And not just regular travel either – the girls took the party across the pond – starting with Brittany and Chris heading to Tokyo for his 6th marathon! Tune in to hear Brittany’s thoughts on Tokyo, the sights she saw, and how Chris did in his race!

Then, things took an unexpected and fun turn. Just before leaving for Tokyo, Brittany received a call from a friend/non-profit founder inviting her to London for a gala with Tom Holland (is this real life?!). Brittany and Chris knew they couldn’t pass up the opportunity, and of course they had to bring Nichelle with them! Tune in to hear their favorite parts of their quick-turn trip to London - and the highlight of Nichelle’s trip. We all know Nichelle was MADE for London.

And be sure to tune in until the end of the episode as Brittany catches us up on FINALLY moving into her new home! Hear all about the process with the designers (who will be joining for an upcoming episode, so be sure to subscribe to the show so you don’t miss it!!), the parts of the design process she was involved in, and what she’s looking forward to most about the home.

Grab a coffee and get ready to laugh as the dynamic duo catches up with their friends - YOU!

And oh yes - HERE is that link to the London coffee table book we all need for inspo!

I'm Brittany, and this is The Life with Loverly podcast.

Brittany:

Hi friends. Welcome back to a new season of the Life with Loverly podcast. Hello, Nichelle. How are you?

Nichelle:
I'm great. How are you? It's so good to be back in here.

Brittany:
It really is. We've got so much to talk about. We left last season right before holiday. I think we had some big intentions and realized that we had a lot on our plate. So sorry to leave you guys hanging expecting some exciting holiday content that we just never delivered, but we're back and we're better than ever. I think one thing, just thinking about the last six months, is there has been a lot of change that has happened since we recorded last.

Nichelle:
There really has. We've been a lot of places.

Brittany:
I know. We've kind of been all over the world since then.

Nichelle:
Really! And the team’s growing and we've set some new intentions for the year. So I'm feeling really good.

Brittany:
I feel like we're in a really awesome place. Just a lot of change internally for the better. A lot of growth, I guess is maybe the right word, not necessarily change. But that's been super exciting, so we'll get into that. Nichelle and I have traveled, Chris and I have traveled, we also just moved into our house, so we've got a lot of talking points.

Nichelle:
We do.

Brittany:
I feel like we should get into it.

Nichelle:

Yes. Okay. So I know that we kind of touched on this a couple of days ago, but leaving last year the way that we did, we went into holiday, we wanted to be super focused. We kind of left the podcast on hold and I feel like the beginning of the year we put our foot down and we were like, okay, less is more sometimes.

Brittany:

Yes, I know.

Nichelle:

And I think that it proved itself. We slowed down so we could speed up and I feel like we haven't even really had to speed up, per se, because we've put the right things in place. So I feel so good about this year. I just got chill bumps thinking about that. This year has been so good so far because I feel like we've really been mindful of all of the working parts when it comes to Loverly Grey and Life with Loverly team and that we don't have to work as hard as we initially thought we wanted to.

Brittany:

Well, it's interesting and something I feel like probably needs an episode of its own, but from being an entrepreneur and a small business owner, relying on other people to do things - actually passing that off can be actually really helpful. And so I think you and I both realized, okay, we need to give this over, or in order to get to this next spot on our goal list, we need to hire more help to do that or hire different help. And so that has been really exciting. I feel like while we were in the trenches of, okay now we're going to hire three new people, it was a feeling of oh my goodness, and now that we're past that, it's just like, whoa, this is so cool to see.

Nichelle:

We realized it was just a speed bump. That's really what it ended up being at the end of the day. And just taking action on those things is honestly what needed to happen.

Brittany:

Well, and I think we're learning too. I mean there's some things that we want to do in the future, goals that we have and a lot of what we're doing is figuring out how we're going to get there. Some of that stuff we'll even be able to share with you guys in the future, so there's just a lot of exciting things. I think I keep going back to the word intentional and I know that was a word of the year maybe last year or two years ago, but that still holds true. And at the end of the day we've had to look back and be like, okay, are we doing this with intention? What is our intention behind that? Does it align with our core values? Does it align with the things we want to do as a company? Is everybody on the same page?

And if it didn't, then we were like, let's revisit that. Okay, what about that? Maybe now's not the right time. So I feel like coming into this year wanting to be super intentional, that has kind of made us shift a few times. Not to mention traveling and being in the final stages of moving into the house. I sort of feel this weight has been lifted a little bit, but I just feel we're going to keep that in the forefront of our mind and that's just really proven to work well for what we're doing right now.

Nichelle:

Absolutely. So I feel like given that we have kind of created this place where we have a little bit more freedom, traveling has come up.

Brittany:

I know we took a really great trip to Palm Beach. I think that was the first?

Nichelle:

It was the first week of February. I just looked back because I was trying to remember the order of everything, the chronological order.

Brittany:

I feel like we needed that trip so much. So I went and Nichelle came with me and we went down for a Sail to Sable x Palm Beach Lately launch. They did another collaboration, which last year we went and supported their launch and this time we went back, which we were so honored they invited us back, and it was so much fun. I love spending time with Beth and Danielle. Beth and I actually text all the time. We're actually really close friends now, which is really great. That's the one thing I just have always loved about this influencer space. You can make such deep intentional connections and then people become lifelong friends.

Nichelle:

Absolutely. And these trips are what do it.

Brittany:

Yeah, I mean just really getting to have some intimate conversations around a lunch table while we're enjoying a beautiful lunch poolside at the Colony. I mean, the ambiance is great, so then the conversation is just great. But we met some new faces this year too. It's always great to be back with the Sail to Sable team. Jenn, the CEO is so much fun to learn from and talk with and I feel like we got going on some tangents and it's always just so fun to be with like-minded people. But that was really fun. And one other reason I think it was such a beneficial trip aside from being there and supporting them, was we got to shoot some other content and we really have decided that we kind of thrive in these locations where we can take outfits, style them for our followers and for our readers, and we just come back with this renewed passion for what we do.

Nichelle:

We really do. It's creating a visual, I feel like people love to see the visual of, okay, here's some great vacation outfits in vacation spots. And I think that a lot of us are very visual, and I think when we see that even as a consumer, it's just more captivating. It's like, oh, this can work in real life.

Brittany:

Well, and I love doing try-ons in the closet or in the bedroom because at the end of the day, a lot of times when people are getting dressed every day, it's happening in their bedroom or in their closet. So I do think there is reality behind showing those types of reels and stories, but going somewhere and putting a full outfit together and going out on the beach or walking down the street and giving you guys a vision of, oh, you're going on spring break here's your visual for what you need to bring. To me, I just get so inspired to keep going in this industry. And I think creators need that. So we came back and just had this kind of renewal, we were able to be in the warm weather, we got some vitamin D. I mean, February here is cold. So just having that motivation, that warm weather's coming was so nice.

Nichelle:

It really was. And then a couple of weeks later, you guys went across the world.
